Let the character introduce herself gently like saying as I look back upon my self or past or something like that. Second I think you should ditch the whole coffin thing. way to cliche. Maybe go with a more original idea like some kind of cave thing to resemble bats. not too sure about that but you could modify it to be a bed that is designed like a coffin. Third change your location, already too much like twilight with the whole vampire thing, the new girl, and now the location. The best you could do is change it to a surrounding state or something.
